Citrus Squeeze

Just to keep you interested 'til I can find something else to say. Anyone who wants to try to set this following lyric to music may do so. Just follow these rules:

1 Must be bluesy or folksy (no rock, jazz or mainstream country tho Bach-ian or Mozart-ian choral renditions accepted)

2 MP3 file of your version sent to me along with music and/or chords.

3 Agree to split the royalties 50/50

4 If you can't sing or know only 3 guitar chords wait 'til I'm dead.

Citrus Squeeze

refrain:

squeeze that citrus fruit

you know you need the juice

you know you need the flavour

and the kiss of the sun that’s in it

squeeze that citrus fruit

v1

sometimes you gotta squeeze

sometimes you gotta twist

some times you gotta lay it down

and pound it with your fist.

v2

when your lying in your bed

and suff’rin’ with the flu

mouth dry as a graveyard

only citrus fruit will do.

v3

Well there’s healing in a lemon,

and there’s mercy in a lime

and there’s joy sweet baby in oranges,

almost all the time.

v4

Plant fruit trees in my mem’ry

sweet baby, when I’m gone

so thru ev’ry day of history

the juice flows on and on
