what's good 'bout Good Friday

It is Good Friday afternoon in Auckland New Zealand and though the sun is out the coming winter is evident in the air temperature. I didn't go to church today though I usually would have marked this day of Jesus' death by doing so. Last Good Friday just as the created mood had drawn me into a place of solemn contemplation, our church switched to one of those old- hat roving TV reporter in 1st Century Jerusalem type dramas - and badly done at that . Mood was killed as dead as Jesus was supposed to be. I left!

My other excuse is that my daughter, son-in-law and grandkids are staying the weekend (and some) so am spending time with them.

Hope those of you for whom Easter is spiritually significant are finding space to meditate, contemplate and that your church/community/social group are showing all due sensitivity to this episode of the meta-narrative that is story of God, us and the universe.

Enjoy your hot cross buns! Go get yourselves blessed whatever your spiritual persuasion!
